Ryun and Debbie's Cruise Vacation

So we are back from our cruise and loved every minute of it! I will give you a brief description and 1 picture for each day, for more details I have our Picasa album online to visit.

Day 1: Leaving Miami. We actually started our vacation with Ryun on the phone with his work, solving a printing crisis. After 1 1/2 hrs, he finally solved it and we could make our way to the deck to what was going on! They had a big Send off party on the deck with lots of calypso music, that we could continue to hear the whole week. We then had our life boat drill, and then went off to dinner.

Day 2: Fun Day at Sea. We spent the day on the back deck getting sun, riding the water slide, and napping. We then had the special Captains Dinner that night, and got all dressed up.

Day 3: Grand Turk Island. This picture actually sums up the day even though I took it after I got home. We went to the local museum, at conch fritters, and toured the town, but there was one thing I was determined to do. I found online a few people talking about a "Conch Shell Graveyard" where locals that go out and collect them will take out the conch and leave the shells right on the beach. We even asked a local about it and he didn't know of anything like that. I finally decided after all day wondering about it to venture out. It was supposedly a 10 minute walk off the right side of the pier, so I took off. I was finding bits and pieces of them, but no whole ones. I kept walking. They slowly I started seeing whole ones but in bad condition among the rocks that met the water at the shore. I saw one more section of rocks ahead, and thought, "If I don't find any there I will come back and just take some pieces or bad ones. Sure enough, that last set of rocks was chock full of conch shells! It was right where they said it would be, 10 minutes walk. I went through and found 3 I liked, and was so proud of myself that I took the effort to find it.

Day 4: Half Moon Cay. This was a relaxing beach day. We went swimming, got some sun, and had a nice barbecue lunch. The boat was docked out further in the water so we took a tender boat to get to shore. It made for a nice view.

Day 5: Nassau, Bahamas. Great birthday, being able to shop all day! Ryun was great and let me go from shop to shop, and was patient as I bargained in the Straw Market. I found some cute things for the kids, and we visited the Queens Staircase and Fort Fincastle. The WHOLE day we had serious vertigo, from being on a rocking ship. We felt like we were still on the boat when we stood still. (It still hasn't totally worn off, and its Monday!) The next day we were back in Miami and heading home. It was a great trip and we can't wait until we take another one.
