Friday, May 29th, 2009 and Skyler is now officially a 1st grader! We all piled in the auditorium to watch all 4 kindergarten classes perform. Every day Skyler's class has their morning meeting, with announcments, birthdays, etc. Once in a while their will be a school wide morning meeting, with one grade in charge of the program. All the parents that can attend show up, and wait to file into the auditorium (pic 1). So Suncoast Academy had their very first Daddy Daughter banquet on Feb 12. Skyler put on her very best dress, and daddy took her all dressed in a suit. We had a fun day at a friends pool on Monday and a friend took these for me since I didn't have my camera. Day 1: Leaving Miami. We actually started our vacation with Ryun on the phone with his work, solving a printing crisis. After 1 1/2 hrs, he finally solved it and we could make our way to the deck to what was going on! Day 3: Grand Turk Island. This picture actually sums up the day even though I took it after I got home. We went to the local museum, at conch fritters, and toured the town, but there was one thing I was determined to do. I found online a few people talking about a "Conch Shell Graveyard" where locals that go out and collect them will take out the conch and leave the shells right on the beach.

Day 4: Half Moon Cay. This was a relaxing beach day. We went swimming, got some sun, and had a nice barbecue lunch. The boat was docked out further in the water so we took a tender boat to get to shore. It made for a nice view.

Day 5: Nassau, Bahamas. Great birthday, being able to shop all day! Ryun was great and let me go from shop to shop, and was patient as I bargained in the Straw Market. Happy Easter! We had a nice relaxing day with dinner at my parents house with my whole side of the family. In the afternoon just after church I took the kids out in the back yard and took some pictures. In the afternoon, we went to see Melinda and Cory's new house, an 1845 house listed in the national historic registry. Today my cousin LeeAnn brought over her 4 kids to spend the day. We went to Old Fort Harrod to let the kids play and brought a picnic. Skyler and Bryce met Isaac, Ben, Levi, and little Ava Claire and became instant playmates.

This is the Osage Orange tree at Old Fort Harrod. Its the disputed "largest tree in America", due to the split trunk. We had a great picnic, all the cousins got along great. We finished the afternoon with a cool dunk in the kiddie pool. The kids took turns going down its little slide.

Our last day in Kentucky, we visited my Aunt Barbara at her house in Lexington. The kids had fun in her backyard. The next afternoon we were on the road, heading as far as we could get and we would get a hotel for the night. But my husband got grand ambitions and decided to try for an all nighter. We got home around 2:45am and determined we would NEVER do that again.

Bryce is 2!Bryce turned 2 on Sunday, and we had a fun little party for him. He got some cars, some Thomas trains, and a lawn mower just like Daddy's. I let him go outside when Ryun was mowing and he immediatly figured it out. He threw a fit when Ryun was done and we wanted him to come in. He is picking up words very quickly and repeats very well. Well, the day finally came... time for me to follow in the footsteps of my parents and cater an event (a friend's rehearsal dinner). Luckily all I really had to do was grill up about 80 pounds of meat and make a few salads... it wasn't as hard as I was expecting, and it turned out great. We had a great time and as you can see, we had a great setting. Savannah is definitally a beautiful place..

Ok, so I am about 4 days too late, but Happy Easter everyone. I had to make sure to show you "Puke Egg" 2007. Skyler insisted that we dress him up with a little smiley face. It personally made me feel a little uncomfortable when I smashed his face on the counter, peeled off his skin and then proceeded to salt his corpse and eat his innards... but that's just me.

Well, it's official, the house is now up for sale by owner. We will see how it goes. Hopefully we sell it for full price, and fast. We need more room for my growing children... Skyler loved her "pukkin"! October 30 we had fun at a friends Pumpkin Party, she even went on her first hayride! Then we went out that evening and got pumpkins to carve and paint.

Skyler is prepared for any more hurricanes that come our way! Not too much new, Skyler is soon to be entering the wonderful world of twos! She has a birthday and then Halloween coming soon. We will post pictures of both. We surpassed ALL the hurricanes, with no damage, and very little electricity shortage. We just hope it cools off soon.

Well, two days after Hurricane Charley and I finally hooked my computer back up. We got extremely lucky here. The wind never got faster than maybe 35 or 40mph. Mark, Mike, Dave, and I even went out to throw a volleyball into the wind at the strongest point. We dodged a major bullet, but unfortunately a lot of people didn't. We will be going to give our bread away in Port Charlotte this wednesday
